Shipping & Receiving
Shipping must go through the ESE Material Handler, Sadiki Showers.
We are bound by Federal, State, local, DOE, and LBNL shipping requirements, enforced by Sadiki
Do not ship it yourself
Email your shipment info to Sadiki. Be sure to include:
Contact info: yours & receiver’s
Description of shipment contents, including whether materials are hazardous
Your project and activity ID
Bring your materials to Sadiki in Shipping and Receiving in Room 4101
Transporting and shipping hazardous materials can be dangerous, but both activities can be done safely. See the Transportation of Hazardous Materials page for shipping restrictions & guidelines. For shipments that require authorization from the LBNL Export Control Group, including hazardous or infectious biologicals or hazardous chemicals, plan ahead, as authorization may take 6 to 8 weeks. Review the International Shipping page for details.Â
LBNL Packages go through LBNL Receiving at main campus for review (Building 69) - please factor in an extra day for transportation to process and delivery items to ESE (Building 978).
Hazardous chemicals received at LBNL Receiving (Building 69) are diverted to the Central Chemical Receiving Facility (CCRF) for validation and application of RFID tracking barcode.
Please review protocols and EHS Guidance for ordering hazardous chemicals to avoid ordering and/or delivery delays
All packages from either LBNL or external couriers are opened for inspection of chemicals upon arrival
Sadiki will deliver packages within one business day, chemical packages are processed by LabOps Managers and you'll receive an email when they're ready for pickup
Hazardous chemicals information -especially location data- needs to be confirmed by the Chemical Management System (CMS) prior to pickup
If you have any questions about Shipping or Receiving, please email Sadiki Showers at snia-showers@lbl.gov.Â
