Shared Computing
This section details the support and oversight of shared computing infrastructure, including instrument controller systems, bioinformatics tools (such as Jupyter, DIVA, ICE, and more), and IT service management. It also encompasses responsibilities related to core infrastructure, like network storage, virtual environments, cloud platforms, and collaborative tools such as JIRA and code repositories.
Instrument Controller Infrastructure, including computers, cameras, remote access (VNC)
Bioinformatics Systems and Tools include Jupyter, DIVA, ICE, EDD, Arrowland, and ART
Data and IT service management.
Core Infrastructure:
Network storage
Virtual machine hypervisors
Google Cloud
JIRA
Code Repository
Servers
Access is via SSH.
Use your LDAP or Berkeley Lab Identity username and password.
Home directories may vary depending on server.
Scratch space is assigned: /scratch/USERNAME/
Your scratch is for local storage for jobs that require intensive resources.
It is recommended your data be transferred out of your scratch directory to your Google Drive or another form of storage as data on the servers may occasionally deleted to maintain optimal storage.
