High Hazards 8AM -5PM Only

• • Do not work alone with hazards that could incapacitate you to a degree that you cannot "self rescue" or quickly activate emergency services.

  • High hazard work must be performed between 8am – 5 pm.  This includes work with:

    • Pressure reactors.

    • Highly hazardous chemicals, highly toxic incapacitating chemicals.

    • Lasers

    • QEW (Qualified Electrical Worker) work involving exposed live electrical circuits >50V or 5mA.

    • Greater than 2L of highly corrosive liquids.

Working After-Hours or Alone:

  • Wear your PPE.

  • Minimize the hazard.

  • Work with a buddy:

    • The second person within sight or earshot.  

    • The second person is available, agrees to, and understands his or her responsibilities.  

    • If the second person has to leave the area, the activity is considered to be “work alone” and must be discontinued.
