Hazardous Chemicals
Specific information about chemicals can be found in the Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Several links to MSDS databases and other chemical information resources can be found in Berkeley Lab’s ES&H Manual here.
ALL peroxide formers and time-sensitive chemicals are stored in designated areas in each room. To prevent prolonged neglect:
Primary Users are required to examine and test these chemicals every 6 months, unless chemical recommended testing interval is every 3 months.
To prevent missed hazardous chemicals from being entered into CMS, ALL incoming packages will be opened upon entering ESE. This means any personal items as well.
Please contact Rosanne Boudreau if you need to transport a hazardous chemical from another facility, such as UC-Berkeley or Sandia National Lab.
