Someone from the Lab Operations team will contact you and coordinate with you regarding the following specifications for your equipment needs including:
Is this purchase for equipment only or is service/installation is needed as well?
Vendor contact informationÂ
Special space requirements (both area and height) ?
Electrical needs (110V, 220V). How many outlets needed?Â
Connection to water/ proximity to water?
Gas needs (N2, Ar, H2, He, O2)?
Vibration-sensitive equipment? Tables or marble surfaces ordered?
Does installation involve penetration of any work surfaces?
Are computers needed, and is this a separate purchase?
Does equipment need to used in a restricted area?
Does the equipment need to be used in a cold room/warm room/fume hood?
Do fumes from the instrument need special exhaust requirements?Â
Does the equipment contain lasers?
Does the equipment need to be used in a radioactive material area?
Once these requirements are discussed, LabOps, procurement, and vendor will work together to bring the instrument to the facility and perform proper installation for use.
Any eBuy items that requires an answer to the above questions.
Non-LBL purchases from other organizations such as UC Berkeley, Sandia National Lab, companies from CRADAs. These entities will contact Lab Ops directly without completing the procurement Smartsheet. Please email jbei-lo@lbl.gov for help with equipment delivery and installation.
